We Played it safe today... the plan was for Beaver Island
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beaver_Island_%28Lake_Michigan%29
but 20 MPH S winds stirred up some weather and 4-6 foot waves
http://www.weather.gov/forecasts/wfo/sectors/apxMarineWeek.php?expandweek=ON#tabs
. Why bother when there is so much great exploring in Traverse Bay. We had a short 12 mile run to Sutton's Bay

and arrived about noon and we were on he lee side of the shore. It is good to have a day to slow down. Planning the trip and working up to the day of departure left us drained after the haul and launch. Although boating has some moments of pure relaxation it is work of another nature. You have to become familiar with each other in ways that are not the norm during our day-to-day routine at home. BTW we are still talking to each other after 2 days and it looks like we will make our 30th anniversary on this trip.

Give me a little time to improve on the linking formats.

Looking forward to another great day on the Great Lakes.

Hi Tom and Connie,
It appears you made it quite far today. You must be thrilled to have made it to the island already.
We think you may be in for quite a bit of rain.
Good luck.

Amy

Hi Aunt Connie and Uncle Tom,
It's really good to hear that you are well and having fun. It sounds like a great trip. I hope next year we will get to see more of you and the boat. Who knows...maybe we can come along too someday.
love, Lauren

Wow, the winds and weather sounded challenging. Glad you are tucked in at shore and having some refreshing beverages.

Lauren wants to know why you don't go to a hotel when it's raining....??
love
Amy

Hi Lauren, No we do not need to get a hotel room as we are on a boat and it floats ON the water. Really, we are warm and dry in our boat's cabin.
